I was sitting here minding my own MFK'ing business when two deer walked by about 5' from my back door. They walked over to the rosebushes and started to chow down, so after snapping a couple photos I went out and chased them away.
I do feel lucky to live in the middle of what a lot of people think of as "The Wilderness" (for me the wilderness starts after 10 or 20 miles of gravel roads). I've seen Deer, Elk, Coyotes, a Bobcat, Raccoons, Jackrabbits, Newts, Salamanders, and all kinds of birds just sitting on my couch! The deer are by far the most common visitors, I see them two or three times a day at some times of year.
That's a lot of Turkeys! Quite a few bottles, too.
I have a friend that lives about 25 miles south of here that had so many turkeys coming round they became a nuisance. The neighbor lady was feeding them, so more and more started showing up. Eventually the Department of Fish and Wildlife came and caught them with a rocket-powered net (just like old Marlin Perkins!) and hauled them off.
This picture is of my next-door neighbor's Tom. He wanders down here with his hens once in a while, but not since winter has set in.
incredible beautiful pics ... i just love them... how any one would want to destroy any of these beautiful animals is beyond me... but thats just me.. you live in such a beautiful place Dan..
