DON'T DO IT!!!!!
Deer meat actually has small parasites in it that die when its cooked...The reason we use beef heart is because its not wild.....its....."pasturized"...lol....sorry, had to throw that little pun in there...lol.......

Jen ;)

Venison is awesome I would feed it to myself.

i do not see any reason it would hurt. it has a very high protein content and is very lean. i wouldnt see how a parasite from a deer could hurt a fish. i am not rock solid on any info, but it would seem no different to me than feeding beef, other than the fact that it is leaner and cleaner. id actually give it a try. if it doesnt work out you know never to use it again.

Well...deer meat is served rare to medium rare so there can't be parasites in them because it would need to be fully cooked in order to destroy the parasite. It would be like salmonella if that was true (needing to be fully cooked through).

but could a parasite living in the flesh of a warm blooded mammal transfer hosts if it was going to a cold blooded fish. i dont think so. either way it goes you should have NO problems bro. i have fed fish all sorts of stuff, much of it being way grosser than deer meat and have had no problems as of yet. EXPERIMENT and keep us posted
