It's opening day for bucks and here I sit on MFK. I used to enjoy getting out and going hunting. These days it seems there are to many hunters and not enough game. I hear shots all around me and wonder how many of these deer are trophy bucks. My guess is None. I must be getting old.

That's where I always saw the biggest deer!I feel the same way here in Washington, it seems like there are always 5 different hunters fighting over the same piece no matter where you go. I'm bummed i never made it out this year..
Gun has been open for a couple weeks now where I hunt, I will be in the woods this Friday and Saturday! I cant wait! The rut hasnt started down south where I hunt so we are going to bag a few does for the freezer and come down in December to (hopefully) tag that buck chasin some putty tang.
What sucks about where I hunt is that its a rectangle piece of property about 400 acres in size and is surrounded on three sides by a huge and poorly managed hunting club. It seems that every year we let decent 6 and 8points walk to get them the next year but it never fails...they dont make it till the next season.
Alabama has some crazy limits, I havnt checked yt this year but historically it has been a buck and a doe a day with no yearly max. I know some fellas down there that will kill 15 or 20 deer a year!

I can't wait to get out this year, I hunt in the swamps around here so I don't see too many hunters. Unfortunatly I've lost more then one deer to the mud and muck.
Thankfully, I bagged 8 points buck two weeks ago so now i can relaxed as my freezer's full with six deer from my hunting clan.
