Definitive project,s'il vous plaît

Yeah....but you also have to take into account the total length of the longer tailed species (Retics). If the tank isn't large enough, the ray may have a hard time turning around without bending its tail.

Of course, but an adult retic become big as your motoro (if I understand, ca. 45 cm. tail included), so where is the problem? Yeah, maybe it isn't alone (there is other fishes), and the bottom surface is more little, but I think that I can keep one (just one) relatively little stingray in a comfortable manner. I'm not cruel with animals, and I never keep an animal that I don't know or I cannot keep. I want only say that some times ago someone suggest me that I can keep in my tank an Hepsetus odoe. So, the Hepsetus odoe is a fish that reach this lenght (in captivity; in nature more than one meter!) and it is a very active predator, than why don't try whit a ray?
(Sorry for my ignorance, but DW means diameter?)

yes DW (disk width) but consider 45cm disk (18") and up to a 92cm tail (36") one will be fine for many years but you may need to upgrade or relocate it and start over.... i mis calculated you tank dimensions earlier 4'x2'x30" not perfect for life but you can go for several years with a retic...

Most Motoro's reach a DW of much bigger than 45cm (18in). The smallest full grown Motoro i've seen was around 24"(61cm) and they can get bigger than that. The Motoro's at the Camden, NJ Aquarium are around 36" DW (91cm).

But retic (or orbigny., or what hell they are) don't reach only max. 30 cm. DW?! Maybe a motoro can reach 45 cm. DW...

retic or orb will max out at 45cm and motoro will not be good for your tank for very long...

definately try and stay away from an orbignyi and just keep a retic. here is a video of my belated orbignyi when he was in my 4x2x2 tank for monitoring when i first got him. trust me on this he wasnt comfortable at 27 inches from head to tail with a 24 inch width tank. nic is right you can house a retic for several years but not for life (comfortably that is) good luck
