For those who don't know, I am the assistant manager at a bank. I take loan applications, open new accounts, help the branch make its sales goals, pay the bills, balance the atm, keep us in compliance with federal regulations, deal with the NSF people, etc. Today the regional president, the sales manager and our region's head of hr walked into our branch and started yanking people into the office.
It turns out that they've decided to "consolidate" my branch with another branch and that I'm basically out of a job. All of the accounts we worked so hard to open will now belong to another branch that did nothing to get them. I feel like a lot of my hard work is down the drain. They offered me another position at another location but it's in another town and I'd be driving 60 miles a day to work. I was pretty attached to this job because it was my first "real" job that I landed all by myself and since starting there in January I had been promoted three times. It just seems like all of that doesn't matter now.
I'm just so hurt and angry and confused and lost. How will I afford fish without a job? (Hey, I had to make it about fish somehow
