My basement is starting to get a bit more humid than I would like. It's a fairly large room. I'm looking to get a dehumidifier that's quiet, and as energy efficient as possible. Preferably with a direct drain line so I don't have to empty it 3 times a day. Does anyone have any suggestions/recommendations on one they have experience with? I assume it's pretty common for fish keepers to use dehumidifiers. :) Thanks!

I am currently using a Danby Dehumidifier model DDR503H. It is currently plugged in but you can access the back for a drain so you don't need to empty. It works well and keeps your basement from getting damp and wet :P especially when all the aquarium water evaporates. I like to empty mine though.

It also works as a heater or air conditioner! http://salestores.com/stores/images/images_747/DDR503H.jpg

thats the image. Hope I helped.

I think I have a whirlpool. Not sure of the size or cost, but it is a deent unit. Pulls about a gallon of water a day out of the air. Pretty good considering most of my tanks are covered. Also has the drain line.

I have the Frigidaire 70pt, saw a sale online and best buy price matched it so I got a sweet deal on the unit plus added the warranty just because I had a gift card so it was free. So far its been great, runs only when it needs to and when it does run it sure soaks up allot of water fast.

This one is the one that seems to be the "best" according to a lot of reviews. I can't seem to find a place that sells it in Canada though!
