Hello; I have been running a small one for about three years now. Like you I have the windows open during much of the warm weather so the unit is turned off. I turn it back on when I close the house in the fall. The energy that the unit uses helps to heat the house so I do not consider it a penalty.
I considered having the water go into a drain but decided to recycle it. I am not yet comfortable using the water in my tanks so it goes into a washing machine. As my area is now in a drought this seems the better choice. I put the setting at about half way and this will keep the humidity in a decent range.
I do not have any where near as much water in my tanks as you report so cannot give a n estimate on how often the holding tank will fill up.

make sure u get one that can hook into a drain or you will be dumping it 2 or 3 times a day.

a lot of them has a place to hook a hose to run to a drain or sump pump.

We've got about 1300 gallons of fish tanks in our mostly finished/partly unfinished basement and this is exactly how I've set up our 70 pint Fridgedare dehumidifier. I connected a small section of garden hose directly to the dehumidifier and ran it into our sump pit. The reasons are twofold. I never have to empty the dehumidifier and it keeps the sump pump in optional operating condition. Most sump pumps fail because they hardly ever run and then end up being dead when they are really needed.

unfortunately the one I want is no longer on amazon so I guess I have to wait a little longer
