You have to put a support underneath it, like egg crate light diffuser

Would it contain enough condensation?

Yes it would. The lid and egg crate will be wet with condensation, just like any lid.

Driftwood is in. It has been sitting for a day or 2 out of water, so it is floating for now. Also the DIY filter thing. Not sure what to call it. And 50lbs more Black Diamond sand.

And the thread comes to an end…in a happy way! 2 new fish were added. A Polypterus palmas palmas (around 12”) and a Polypterus Mokelembembe (8”). Thanks A Amazing-Fish ! These were Hao ‘s old fish. A new thread will be made. They are all settling in, better pics coming soon!
