Im thinking about adding one of these to a 150 that houses a Herichthys Carpintis Escondido 5", Andinoacara Stalsbergi 6", Managuense 6". The tank has a few large caves. Any thoughts on this?

If it is something that can be done ... where is a good place to purchase? I just cant get over how cool thses look.

Thanks for the info. I dont know why, but I thought the bichir was aggressive. Would one fit in a Mbuna tank with two jewels? Im guessing the jewels would be bullies. However, they never mess with the Labs and Princess that are in there. Tank is a 60 gal corner.

It won't be smart to keep a small bichir in a tank with any large cichlids....

Bichirs definately aren't aggressive. They just have big mouths.
Many of them do get over a foot in length. And if you buy a 24-36" bichir it may do ok, or it may not. You're putting a fish with very poor vision that isn't overly aggressive against extremely aggresive cichlids with excellent eyesight. Not a fair fight by any means.
