You're putting a fish with very poor vision that isn't overly aggressive against extremely aggresive cichlids with excellent eyesight. Not a fair fight by any means.

True, True. Even if the bichir can co-exist with the cichlids, it would most likely get outcompeted for food.
The sinking pellets won't even hit the bottom, and the bichir would die of hunger

Thanks for all the info all. I was reading on this site where someone had asked if they went better with african or central blah blah blah. Concensus was wither, but perhaps they were refering to a docile fish. I dont want to hurt a fish so Ill hold off untill I can get another larger tank.

Delhezi are pretty expensive. I wouldnt bet on it
