I took some more pics this morning to show the size of the eggs and fry from day 1
The 1st shows eggs that I collected today they are due to hatch in 2 days. The 2nd shows fry that hatched this morning, the coin is 2cm in diameter. The last shows 2 of the original fry now 49 days old eating daphnia, sorry about the poor quality.

Cool seems like captive breeding delhezis are becomeing alot more common i would love to try and breed them myself

Wow! Great threat! I'm looking forward to see how they turn out! :D What are you feeding them?

I first had eggs about 2 years ago, I think it took so long because the male wasn't mature enough. I have been breeding senegals since 2008 so I lust kept collecting delhezi eggs until they got it right. They are spawning again ATM 10Pm Perth Australia.
Bay Area
I can't give a spawning technique, patience, stability, regular maintenance, quality dry foods, live foods, naturally aged water and one species per tank works for me

What is your regular maintenance schedule?

What is naturally aged water?

I do weekly water changes, 50%, and I use straight tap water in to the tank with dechlorinator. Thank you.

Wow astonishing! If only you could sell some! :)

+1

Though I don't think he would be selling them. Growing them up since eggs, sure would have affection for those babies. :D

WOW!! lucky. Can adult albino sens and delhezis breed together?? If they can will some of the babies be albino??

Lix.
I don't know if they would cross, with import restrictions in Australia most of us try to keep our fish pure. An adult delhezi sells for $500 a cross in my opinion would be worthless.

4 out of the first batch,14 out of the second and the eggs above didn't hatch. This tells me only one pair is old enough, the numbers will get better but they are difficult to raise.

I breed fish to sell, it pays for my hobby. My senegals have produced 400 saleable fry over 3 years.

I age my water for 1 week in a 4500ltr tank, 20% water changes are done on all my fish tanks every week. The new water is pumped from a 20000ltr heated pond full of plants and filtered at 10000 ltrs per hour the pond is then topped up from the 4500 tank. With 100 fish tanks I use all of the 4500 ltrs. Using this method the water is at least 2 weeks old and mixed with well aged water before it gets to the fish room. I do not use declorinator

The adults as above.
The fry get baby brine shrimp then fry from other fish, these could be any low value fish that I breed just to keep the Poly fry fed. The feeder fry are fed BBshrimp first, I also feed crushed pellets then the same pellet as they grow. Atm I have a supply of daphnia from my coldwater ponds which were seeded with daphnia for continuous supply
Barracuda
A few will be kept for future breeders most will be sold

Keep the questions coming I don't mind sharing info
