I just love the way they look!! Especially full grown. But I need more info before I make a commitment...lol.

I saw one for $34.00. Is this a good deal? He has great markings!!

Can they go into a 55 with Sens? What is a good tank size for them for life?

What size do they have to be to put in with 4-5 inch sens?

Right now the one I'm looking at is only like 1 inch!!! So I know for sure, I'd have to powerfeed him for awhile. :grinno:

Poor thing has not gained an inch in months!!! While my sens have gone from 2 inches to between 4-5 during the same amount of time that pet store has had him!! I don't think that they feed the poor guy. But then, I get the feeling that most petstores don't feed their fish well.

34$ seems like a great deal, to me at least, the only one I've seen being sold in person was like 70$(Canadian). I don't think there should be more than a two inch size gap between them, so I think power feeding would be a good idea. I think they grow to around 14 inches. So I think that a 55 Gallon would suffice, but it would probably be happier in something larger.
Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not an expert.

Some sites with information:

bigger is always better, only problem would be the bigger bichirs beating up the del.

They can work in a 55g with good filtration and at least 50% weekly water changes.

I agree that bigger tank is always better.

My sponge filter in the 55g filters up to 125g! And I also run a duetto too.

I don't trust sponge filter ratings, but I know a lot of people use them with great results.

As long as you're not reading any ammonia levels in your water tests, then all I well.

I prefer canister and HOT combos for lots of water movement and to keep the water crystal clear.

i agree on better filtration.
they get just a bit larger than sens,so all should be fine.
bigger def. is better.

Not far at all I have been searching for the last 2 months for a delhezi and you find one for 34.00 I may end up paying 60.00 soon because may have to order one online.
