:headbang2 :clap :woot: :grinno: :naughty: :screwy:

How long have you had had it?

Odds are it fairly new to the tank and just skittish since its so small its feeling insecure.I had one used to bury itself in the sand most of the time.It should grow out of hiding once it gets bigger-Anne

target feed him as you are now

about a week and thanks for info, how fast do they grow if fed proberly?

it took mine a few weeks to stop hiding all the time. now it's out and about almost as much as my palmas polli.

I've used tongs or a plastic tube to drop the food directly to the poly-mine always got mugged by the Distichodus affinis in the tank & this was the only way initially to get it to feed. I've stopped worrying if some days it doesn't feed.

What are you feeding your bichirs currently ?
Live food or pellets ?

live and brine shrimp, just ate fresh grass shrimp today the ornate pigged out and the delhzi ate with the light on.

brine shrimp is not nutritious enough for bichirs...they are mainly ''bone'' composite and freaking almost zero protein IMO. (I've witnessed bichir which ate brine shrimps and passed out the brine shrimps...same size and shape.)

grass shrimps shld be fine but just be careful, there are records of fish having their bellies pierced through by undigested shrimp shells.
thus, I think baby catfish, goldfish, platy, frogs, and de-shell prawn will be safer.

cheers,
zhan

what is de-shell prawn and platy? never heard of these down here, hey what about baby crawfish?
