The fact that you've only seen one 12" JD does not necessarily mean there is only one 12" JD around.balton777;1363222; said:

Very nice JDs! The female's wound looks pretty bad though (in fact I think I see a cloudy eye), maybe you should divide the tank with a clear divider until the male gets used to seeing her around, otherwise she'll be hiding in that little cave all the time. Cichlids can spawn even when physically separated - it's been done with holey plastic dividers.
