In a 30 gallon? Dempseys, Terrors, and Jewels get too large too fast for a 30gal tank. The only thing you can work into that is a breeding pair of convicts.

you were given a few decent replies to this question in a previous thread you made. the answers will be unlikely to change to suit what you want regardless of how many repeats threads you make.

in a 30g (assuming a 36" breeder) then a couple of catfish reaching no larger than 6" each or top level dithers such as BA tetras or giant danios but even at the Jd's small size i would advise against another cichlid. particularly avoiding convicts and jewels as a small tankmate. even at a small size a con or jewel will likely terrorise your JD.

not really . . . keeping a JD in a 30G is a bad idea anyway, and you want to know what other fish you can keep with it? uh-uh, not playing

if, eventually, you upgrade to a 55G or bigger, than I would say you could add a firemouth or a convict, but not now, net yet . . .

yes, you can find bigger tanks on craigslist for good prices :)
