ty usmctanker iam really tryin iam not gonna put him down, iam gonna catch him and wrap his tail up and try to force feed him, i hope this works

good luck. make sure u have done research an are prepaired to get stung, prob wont happen but any ray owner knows when handing them it can happen at anytime. an u wanna have ur stuff together. or a plan. what do u plan to feed the ray once out. if it works an u get food down, u might haft to do it a few times, an if thats the case a little pice of tubeing can be put over sting for short periods of time like a cpl days. just dont leave it on for weeks.

DO NOT FORCE FEED HIM>> you will stress him out so much, he will die..
Sometime you have to just let him be..
what size tank is he in by the way.....???????????
take an area three times the size as him in your tank and get the rocks out.. move them over, take them out, whatever... just get him an area were there are no rocks...
second.. If you turned the heat u tp 81 to 82,, cool. if not, turn it up.
third.. in that area that you cleared the rocks.. put some blackworms...
if you have any other fish or rays in the tank.. put a seperater in there and keep them from being close to the hurt rays cleared out area.. Just let him have that area.

last but not least,, leave it be..
dont mess with the ray. no meds, no nothing....

do water chages everyother day...
but leave him alone..
let nature take it course..
do not add any other tankmates to that tank till he is either healed or has passed on...

ty bcfd, thats a good idea i, took all the other fish out today and my other ray i will buy more black worms tomorrow and try that on bare bottom, makes sense he should have a easier time eating them, and i won't force feed, the thing is i had a few ppl say to force feed him and more that say don't do it, i want him to live so i will try anything thanks for all ur advice from everyone

nothing else can be said. this is all u can do. bcfd i think u have said most all this for him a cpl times lol. but this really is all u can do. u can force feed him if u want. but like i said in ur other thread its gonna stress him out alot. do what bcfd is saying, it really is all u can do. other wise before looking for a new ray make a thread for another mfk member near u that can help or take of ur hands. if u would have done that i think people would have been less out to jump on u. dont forget we are all here to help, just can get crazy at times bc we are not there. but we all love an care for these animals an wanna help u. so posting looking for another ray is a bit to soon :grinno:. so focus on this guy before looking for a new one, this hobby is full of challanges an learning. thats y its fun. sometimes rays die. but once again follow what bcfd is saying an maybe see if another member on here is near u that wouldnt mind stoping by to help. u gota remember what it looks like to everyone thats helping u when u make a post to find more rays when this one is still a maybe. he isnt a loss tell he is dead, never let some lfs say there isnothing u can do, i have myself an seen alot of fish come back from worse. and all the times i have seen it, it was bc of the help of all the members here. good luck

ty ur right iam very sry everyone iam getting ahead of myself, i should of not posted about another ray, but iam also thinking of my kids, my kids really love him in fact they named him stingy..lol, but needycowgirl was right i should of asked more ? about it, but i have gone everywhere, to all pet store and did everything they said to do before i even came a member here, the reason y i posted all that is cause iam told no matter what i do hes gonna die, so if hes gonna die i wanna get another one to replace him so my kids won't know, sry to everyone who got upset over this whole thing, but one thing is for sure, i really do care, the one vet is the one who told me to pull him out to let him die cause hes in pain and it would be best, then thats when i was told about the clove oil, and he does seem a little happier now that hes on bare bottom. thanks agin to everyone who helped and didn't jump on me

and that right there is what makes a true monsterfishkeeper. i was in ur same boat when i joined, but unlike most i owned up an was sorry an learned an did my best, like u are now. there are hard times in the hobby for sure. i really hope this guy makes it. bc look at the story u will have, my wife says its a bad thing but i have a problem with geting fish that store say there gonna die. i put them in a tank to them selfs an do what i can. sometimes they live an i get a free fish or cheap, sometimes they die, but at least they got a 5 star room before they went. lol
just do what u can, keep asking ? an reading an u will be just fine. when all is said an done we will find u a new ray lol. if u really worried about the kids, if he does die u can always put blacket over tank an say its suppost to help him. then uncover when u get another. but it could be a perfect time to talk about death with ur kids. before my boy was one we lost one of our prized fish. is fav. he was a little scared at first but death is hard to hide.

your right i will just have to teach my daughter about it, and hope she understands, again sry, but i was only doing what vet said to do, but he told me to do this a week ago and i wouldn't cause of the time i had into him and the care

Dont buy anymore rays PLEASE you not ready for them

You have said it's costing you a lot of money which you can't afford

People should by pets they can't afford to take care of

My last advocate turn the temp up to 88 that small temp increase from 81 to 82 was a waste of make sure you have plenty of aeration

Take out all the rocks and plants you have

I have read that your may have got burnt by the heater and your ray is still hanging out by the heater I hope now you have a heater gaurd to protect the ray from the heater

Leave the lights on the tank off and try feeding at night

Other members are right MFK members are Here to help but what you should have done 1st is read on MFK before you got the ray please don't tell me you done loads of research before buying
If you do say you did research I don't think you done enough reading before buy as the dent in the foreheads is one things in all of the ray care sheets you read about purchasing your 1st ray

x2, the idea of giving up should've NEVER popped up at all. If it pops up, you're definitely not ready. Had you done enough research, you would've known about the huge expenses these things accumulate, money issues are no excuse.
