Recently me and my girlfriend of 2 years broke up and it really messed me up. For the past couple days I've been very sad and not eaten/showered and it just hurts so much. Enough about me, I was wondering on what I should do with my fish. I can't even take care of myself, nonetheless my fish.

Should I give them to my Lfs and hope for the best? I don't want them to suffer because I'm too sad to get up and feed them, do w/c etc.

Well yes if your not going to take care of them break down the tank and donate them to your lfs. Just give away the livestock but keep the tank and all of your equipment. I don't know how old you are but we have all been there. Girlfriends (wives) come and go but life goes on. I would speak to a professional if the breakup is that bad. Hang in there.

sorry about your situation bro. its happened to all of us and yes it sucks. i personally would use this time to focus on taking care of your fish to get your mind off the other... your fish will actualy appritiate the attention you give them. feeding and doing a wc is less effort than catching and transporting the fish anyway.

I'm almost 19. It's so hard because I got all the fish with her, set up my tanks with her. Tomorrow I'm going to try and do a w/c and see how it goes. I fed them while writing this. It's so had to function because I did everything with her, I'm not used to be doing things alone.

Been where ur at. World isn't over. Get rid of the fish and buy some more that just u picked out. Ur young and one women isn't worth being depressed over. I loved many before I found the one that really mattered.

I was the one who got the letter while in a combat zone asking for divorce. So been there man and sorry for that but bro i have since found a woman whom appreciates me even more then i could imagine. She grabs didn't define she highlighted you. You define who you are and you have value and worth. People love you and there more fish in the tank ... get it? tank hobby and all. Just like he said at min keep the equipment if you like keeping now you will for life. Good luck and happy holidays man.

Dear Mr. Aiden,

The girls that we think are really special tend to be a dime a dozen. I get whats goin on man, my ex and I did a lot of **** together, and reminders suck. But don't shut down because of a girl...silly waste. Your 19, not 45, you literally have hundreds of other ways of occupying your time at your disposal, along with billions (yes that many) of women left available on the planet. I'm sure you thinking to yourself that "She's the one, etc etc. But you know what? If you guys broke up and she left a guy like you that's going to go into a depression for this girl, then she didn't make YOU her number 1. So you know what you say to that? "**** DAT!" And don't go telling yourself you'll never find somebody else because I got three things to say to you about that 1. The sheer math for that to even make sense is almost impossible, 2. You've already had a girlfriend, so a replication of the process is not impossible, 3. If you act like your never gona find another and what you want is what you HAD, then it's going to greatly slow down your healing process.
You don't me, and I don't know you, but I know what **** like that is like. And you also need to realize your 19 years old in 2012, people don't get married that young and girls at this age (just like most guys) get easily scared once that thought crosses their mind because they know they're still young and want to see whats really out there. You should too

sorry to hear about the situation, Id hang in there before you give away your stuff and shut down the tank. in a few weeks things will get easier and you will me enthusiastic about stuff again, and will more then likely want to keep fish again.
