My wife got a new job at an apartment complex as a leasing agent. She has her own desk and I made a comment in passing about getting here a small tank for her desk

Well she liked the idea. So I have two basic questions. What is a good small tank I could fit onto a desk in a leasing office. It's not a private office So I can't really put a ten gallon or anything too big. Some thing that wouldn't take up too much space and would look nice.

Also what are some good fish to keep? I thought about glofish in a betta tank or 1.5 gallon tank but glofish are just so... well they are glofish. I wanna get her something cool. Ideas????

Hooked up my girlfriend with a Fluval Chi... she loves it

I've always liked goldfish bowls. Get her one thats big enough to fit an internal filter with maybe a clip on light or use a desk lamp. Some sand with plants, cherry shrimp, snail and small fish like endlers, lampeye or ember tetra.

I was looking online at the Fluval Spec 2 gal and the Chi 5 gallon. The 5 gallon os only 10X10X12 so I think I'll prob get her that. Cool fish to keep in a 5 gallon? Most small fish are rather unattractive so I want something kinda eye appealing for her desk. I do like the idea of a cherry shrimp...

Fluval Flora would be cool. Im sure your wife would find the combination of shrimps and plants very relaxing after a long day of work.

I wouldn't get anything smaller than five gallons. YOu could keep one Betta or a couple african Dwarf frogs if it's heated and filtered. anything smaller than three... and you can't really put anything in it.

The Flora is cool but because it's gonna go on a desk at the leasing office it can't be too big. 5 gallons is pushing it i think the 7.5 flora would be kinda big

If you want to go smaller than 5g your best bet is a killiefish like Aphyosemion australe, not easy to find in stores but usually available at local clubs. A male would be a spectacular centerpiece for a small planted tank.Just be sure its covered, they jump.

what about celestial pearl danios? they stay small, have nice colors and would work in a small tank?
