how did your flowerhorn die also ? it never crossed my mind with the size of tank he was using and definitely is dirty as hell. You must not take care of it because you have heavy calcium buildup at the rim, meaning you let the water evaporate and just sit at low levels.

I admit this is a bit frustrating to see fish in this kind of environment.

But regardless I'm here to help so that this hopefully won't happen again.

Is that like a 5 gallon? I'd do at least a 20 gallon for the 3 of them and even then no guarantees. This makes me sad. I do hope this is fixed asap.

Oh, i had a SRD FH for my dad's father day present..

It was in a 2ft tanks, with overhead filteration pump..

It had the shows the same sign as the parrot fish of my friend..

i was very anxious and called for alot of help but none were useful.. ended up i asked the seller to pay my house for a visit, ended up he said it was what "parking disease"..

He also mention he see nothing wrong on the outside for my FH and it mind be internal problem..

Thus he sold("ripped") me off any 13 bucks for a "Hole-In-Head" med from octozin.. and i put the tablet into the water, the next day, he was lying at the bottom of the tank and gradually showing no sign of life and...... die..

i was super devastated.. and had it buried at night after showing to my dad..

Then tell your friend that she needs to give her fish AWAY so that someone can properly care for them. This is disgusting. They are all going to die without regular water changes and proper housing and by the looks of things it won't be much longer if it isn't already too late for all of them. Things like this make me angry, if you're going to take responsibility for another living thing you need to do the necessary 'work' to keep them happy and healthy. That means a whole 10 minutes out of her week to do a water change and start setting up another tank. I certainly hope you convince her to give them away, or put them down.

^and you can tell her I said this. Ask her if she thinks she can care for 4 6 inch poop machines in a tank over 30 gallons. If she says no then she needs to give them to someone else asap. I have 6 of these fish (ranging 5-8 inches) in a 60 gallon and I think I need to upgrade to a bigger tank. If she isn't willing to do a water change on that 5 gallon or whatever it is, then there is no hope.

I never saw a post from you asking about this... but for future reference don't medicate a fish if you don't know exactly whats wrong with it because it can make it way worse. Hole in the head disease has visable signs and I've never seen a flowerhorn with it myself. Sorry for your loss... One way or another these things must be learned.
