Well madness that's great news, this is a prime example of what happens when you couple research with experianced advice. I'm very happy for you. Now that you have mels number you can call him and ask him when a good time for the home invasion is... j/k. But seriously, I have talked with him, you have and kevin said he will take me up to his place some time. We need to put words into action. Maybe cash, let's tell him we will pay an entry fee...lol j/k again. But really there needs to be a meetup with all us washington state big cichlid keepers. Sorry for going off topic, and I am really happy to hear you are having success.
With all of the water changes, I think that I damaged my bacteria bed cause my water is really cloudy today. So I grabbed some media from other filters to get this tank up to snuff again.

A combination of both actually. My last water change was about 80%. Either way, the bacteria needs to get built back up.
You letting any other NWers come over Mel? We will pay admission... Or JK47 will ban you if you say no.
