Any specification on the antibiotics? can i get it in my LFS?

The UV light sounds interesting, but 40€ for that light for 2 days use seems a bit much, antibiotics then sounds cheaper and easier to use...

Had this same problem before, it turned out i didnt have a proper on off scedule for my lights and there was algae everywhere. I cut down to 6 hrs a day for a week and bought another pleco. Bam no more algae

If you want something natural, get a Brinstlenose Pleco for the tropical tank and a few Trapdoor Snails for the coolwater tank :)

my convicts attack pleco's , and in my coldwater tank, my perch would love the snails :p

plecos (or any fish, as far as I know) don't eat BGA.

$30-$40 for a UV light is not that bad, and if you ever need it in the future, it'll always be there for you. My 3 tanks, each took turn blooming algae, and the UV helped tremendously. Good luck!!
