Wow, that's a beauty of a Florida gar, I love all the spots down towards the belly. From what I have gathered from reading all the post on several sites, it comes down to the snout length and width. Spotted seem to have longer and more narrow snouts.

You hit the nail right on the head, the personalities that gars exhibit are the reason why once you get a gar, you kick yourself for not getting one sooner.

The best place to get spotted gars is from solomon (if he has any). I just received two of them from him and they are absolutely beautiful fish.
