so i have a common pleco. thats about 20" and i got him @ about 16" and ive had him for about 1.5 years. is it possible to estimate an age for this beast?

Post a picture of him. 'Common pleco' has numerous species that can attain different sizes. It will be difficult to estimate age, but this will be a start.

could be 3 years, could be more... it would depend on the species but also on the individual growth rate of the plec (based on conditions and diet/feed).

ill try to get a pic but im not sure when, i drop hikari alge wafers in i donno how much of em get eaten by the beaste. hes lived in the 210 foe about 1.5 years but i got him froma LFS that kept him in a 65 gal with 4 or 5 others. so ill get a pic as soon as i can, i just have a runofthemill digital camera so they never turn out great
