detritus in sump?

Filter socks work well, my brother (thisissimple) swears by them. The only thing is that like anything else that traps detritus, they are nitrate factories. This means you need at least three so that you can switch them out every couple days and wash two at a time.

thats the trouble with using them, is that you constantly have to clean them out. This way at least I can see what I am trying to vacuum out. Thats my only hesitation.

Frags are doing well. Ill keep you in mind if I order some more stuff!

I currently use the vacuum when doing a water change method and am going to change to the filter sock. It will help keep my water cleaner I think because I don't currently have anything that will catch real small particles and then end up floating around in the tank. Then I will only have to vacuum out the sump every once in a while.

Great to hear...picking up some real high end stuff this summer...just cross your fingers and hope they grow fast.
