Sorry to hear. I think heaters are one of the weakest links in this hobby, I'm always afraid I'll come home from work to something like that. I'd say go for a new E cat if you can find one, it's not a replacement for sparky, but it will probably help.
well like I use the topfin or ebo jager brands but one of the Topfin heaters I bought for the 30 gallon at home I set it up for only a minimum 78* but it ended up to 86* so when I found out about the heater rising dramatically I trashed that son of a B*tch also when I was going to take the plug off...it stay on for about an hour an a half so I didn't want to take it out yet unless I want to be arm wet with a heater that out of water waiting to blow up...=[

anyways heater was of a company called RS 108
those are the only type of heaters you can get here and no other kind, had to place an order for the new heaters
