many thanks guys , much aprechiated

LFN - on the 18th pic ,i.e two days ago they where approx 1 month on from 1st sight of eggs

GODZALLA - to breed channa pulchra i done as follows :-

started with a group of seven fish , provided many hiding places for them and lots of floating cover , ph is not important as long as extreames are avoided , temp was as room temp , which over winter was around 19-20 deg , to simulate there natural enviroment i installed a seio pump , as where they are found in the winter months as snow melts on the mountains the rivers run fast and cool , as the season turns to summer and once all snow has melted the river / streems run dry , leaving still standing pools of water ,its at this time the pulchra breed , so in march i removed the seio pump to simulate the pools they end up in ,and as the ambient temp started to rise ,i started seeing some spawing type behavior and the other five fish where promptly expeled from the tank , when the temp hit 23deg this is when it happened , they spawned in typical channa style tieing themselves in knots , this is when the eggs are fertalized and automaticly rise to the surface ,due to the small oil content in them , the male fish then swims about collecting the eggs and expells them through his gills at a certain point in the tank ( that he has previously cleared of plants ) , he spent most the first week sat directlyy under the eggs / developing fry ,protecting them . and thats about all there is to it . the fry are taking newly hatched brine shrimp

DIXON - yours wont be long behind mate , they are from the same import as these two , which was the 1st shipment into the uk ,and have been well conditioned , you will know when they are getting ready as the aggresion level will increase 10 fold, will update again in a couple of weeks or so , will be interesting to see at what age they start to change colour

wow man u done a great job then ... and congrats on the new arrivals :) thanks for the explaining man thanks a lot and i hope i ll see the pics of them when they will be ]V[onsters ;) cool man nice work

You must have a really huge tank to be able to breed them, how big? You've done a really good job man, your fishes must really fee comfortable in their home...keep it up.
