devil help and advice needed asap

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Unfortunately that happens alot here a pair should be ok in 170 just have alot of hiding spots and be aure to remove anything you dont want to be killed once you see a pair forming aggression will increase ten fold once a pair forms

It will be a risk doing so even in the 170g however it is plenty enough space for a pair. Also it is pretty sad that people are responding at all with out reading his entire first post which clearly said he wasnt doing this in a 55g "guppy" tank. Your best bet would be to find a 90g tank to let your devil have to itself, or give her the entire 170g if your willing.

A Red Devil is ,99% of the time, a solitary fish and will not work with others. Even pairs are hard to keep with success.

Oh, and dont mind the jacka$$ comments. You can look through the members posts and find stupider questions...and tank setups.

i think that i will pick up a few more devils, let them form a pair then get rid of the rest, the pair would have the 170 to themselves does this sound ok?

This is the better plan. But keep a close eye on them for any signs of aggression. Have a divider or a spare tank on hand just in case. Sometimes a pair will form and spawn many times before one of them suddenly snaps and kills the other. I wish you the best.

Just feed them with quality food and maintain their tank with good water changes.

how many should i get, remember i already have 2, to get a pair, and do i just put them in the tank all together at once or is there a special way i should do this?
