Tried the fill flash, liked the results but underexposed them all trying to keep from blowing the highlights. Just couldn't get him to stay in the sweet spot and ended up holding the flash in one hand and chasing him in circles

White like that on a fish is easy to make too hot. You do a great job with the exposure.
