Diablo red arowana sick

Okay all done. Treated the tank with 0.1 percent epsom salts (magnesium sulfate).

Threw a piece of tilapia in the tank and he smashed it. Hit the tilapia chunk like a semi truck hitting a vespa.

It's impossible to say with any certainty exactly what brought this on, but as Bret stated I don't see any reason to withhold food. It sounds/looks like a mild case of inflammation.

Well about a hour after the dose he made a poop. A lil skinny brown poop. Its actually the first time ive seen him do this

SO there are some small black poops on the bottom of tank now. Almost like lil mini dog ones. I wonder if the epsoms are cleaning him out a lil? Or maybe the rays? Have never seen these poops and they do not look like ray poop.

Sounds like the epsom salt is doing its job. ;)

Just did a 50 gallon change. Replaced epsoms. He seems itchy again. He did a head shake and he also did a head nod. Like a up and down motion really akward. Acting a lil strange. Also rubbed his neck(or where a fishes neck would be if they had one) on the intake again. These events happened before water change. He is grumpy and being extra mean to the rays. The water change seemed to liven him up a lil. I really want him to be okay but I have a weird feeling. His vent has not changed. Still red still inflamed and extended.

Has showed no signs Vent is the same no change really. But on my male laticeps ray I found a wound in the middle of his belly which was not there a few days ago when i gave every ray a close examination. So i finally have a sign of a problem besides the obv vent problem on the aro. Its almost a white scabby thing thats red underneath. But sometimes the white crusty part is gone and its just a cirular red mark. Looks suspiciously bad. These rays have been in this tank for 3 months at least. This is the ray that the aro bullies the most. But never could inflict a wound like this on its underside. No other ray has any marks. Maybe the ray is a lil stressed from the aro and it weakened its immune system. I tried to take pics but im not so good. I will get the ol ball and chain to take some when she is home from work. But the ray still has a strong appetite. I really want to get on top of this before it gets too carried away for my aro. Pics will be uploaded tonight.
