Diablo red arowana sick

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Okay tonight was the 2 days after the first treatment. I got home from work and pulled about 40 percent of tank volume. (my fx5 intake is a lil higher than the 50 percent mark) I filled it up and ate dinner. I pulled another 30 gallons after dinner and topped it back up. Than i added the full dose of kanaplex. Fish didnt seem to mind it as much as the first dose. The male rays wound is completley healed. Just left a lil lighter skin there. No red at all anymore.

On a more positive note, the aros gill plate is really coloring up. Turning a orange red color. The edge of his scales are starting to turn a shade of red. Especially the last 8 to 10 rows. His excellent bluebase is really starting to shine as well. I cant wait for him to get healthy and get on with his life. He also has stopped rubbing on the glass. He now makes every turn at the last second before he touches the glass. No more glass rubbing and potentially ruining his handsome face.

Should i continue the epsom soaked diet while the kanaplex is being used?

Sounds good. You can stop the epsom salt completely and just continue with the Kanaplex.

How many days was the aro eating the epsom soaked food?

I started on the 22nd morning with the epsom infused diet. I have been doing it every feeding since.

Ok, I thought that you had stopped while treating with the Kanaplex.
At this point you might as well continue feeding the epsom soaked food, with tomorrow being the last day. Is the aro still eating?

yeah he is eating. Sometime he eats like 4 or 5 worms. Sometimes only 1. I feed him in the morn and again at night. Sometimes he refuses to eat. I think he is smart to the salty worms now. He grabs them and chews on them a lil first now. You can see the epsom salts leaking out his mouth.

The rays sure dont mind the epsom salt infused worms. One of the rays poops almost has a yellowish clear sheathing to it. The other poops are tight lil corkscrews. Is this a sign of parasites? Or internal bacteria? Or just the epsom salts and the diet?

Came home from work to some jelly like material on the bottom of the tank. Its a light colored transparent substance. Very jelly like. And the aros vent is more swollen and redder. Is this his stomach or intestine lining? Not very happy

Whatever it is, it doesn't overly good.

Yeah he wont eat now. Is it the meds working? The rays are all eating fine. What would cause this to happen? If it Is his stomach lining. Which I belive it is. Or some part of his digestive tract anyway. I don't understand why the rays are doing so much better. I can't research anymore. There is no defentive literature anywhere that describe my problems. I'm at a loss.
