Probably my most favorite shot I've ever taken of my festivum. Just love this fish to no end. They are hands down one of the coolest cichlids available. I definately need to get more.

Great pic, most of the web pics that i have seen don't do it justice. I remember seeing them on a cover and i immediatley wanted one,and about one hundred others . What makes it so cool to you.

I don't know, there is something about them that just makes them look regal. The way they cruise the tank, how they are so laid back. They get along with pretty much every type of cichlid. They just demand a sort of reverance, a respect. I just love watching mine in the tank. Very active, inquisitive fish.

They are indeed awesome cichlids. Mine is M. insignis, what type did you send your friend?

I had a few but they always seemed to mysteriously die after several months. I think the chocolate cichlid in the tank abused them when i was not looking.
