Diamond shopping, FML

I would suggest you don't do what's hot "now". Do what has remained classy for the past 50+ years.

see i dont think shed like a pink stone; more into the traditional white gold/princess cut. are these usually cheaper or more expensive than a regular diamond?

lol...ermm....a pink diamond?!!!! hell you could buy a whole mansion and turn it into a huge aquarium with that kind of money. pink diamonds are pricey.

A (near) flawless high color graded classic diamond will be more expensive than any other type. That being said, good sized pink diamonds can get very expensive, too.

If you want to keep it classic, you can always jazz it up a bit. If she has small hands, try doing a triple-set of smaller diamonds (by smaller, I mean the 3 combined should be slightly larger karat-wise than a single stone would be... i.e. if you were looking at a 1 karat stone, then try to get a triple set that is slightly larger than that).

These set-ups tend to look spectacular on white gold. That's what my wife has because she has such small hands. It tends to catch more eyes than one stone.

Pinks can start at a good amount but some are the same as your classic diamond depending on quality..
my father invests in diamonds and i know pinks have a way of making the wifey happy lol
or red... if you have a spare 10 million

You could always go with the classicly super-expensive green diamonds. Standards that have come across intense amounts of radiation.

ok, so i just found a stone online and asked that it get transferred to my local store to see it in person. details are:

0.91 carat, D color, SI2, princess cut, $3,435. what do you guys think?

That's nice. White gold w/ diamonds is top notch... IMHO.

D-Color stones are hefty in price, and SI2 isn't bad either. I say it's a fair price.
