can't believe I never saw this thread before; very cool tank, no question about it

only thing I noticed: that is a beautiful carpintis, but he looks a bit odd-man-out in that tank; I noticed in your last "feeding frenzy" video, that dude just disappeared from sight once the action started

ever think maybe he's gonna have to move out? like, I don't think he's necessarily in danger, just that he looks out of place . . .

Set mine up will you? ;)

Cool Tank, Got a few questions though. You said that you dont always feed them feeders. What is their normal diet? Also is it possible for peacock bass to get Hole In Head?

yeah the feeders is more for show when i want to show friendsd or make a video. their normal diet is tilapia, with occasional turkey dogs and shrimp

Just finished reading this thread and like your work. I have a 240 full of Mbuna and am considering changing to a sump. How much time is spent on maintenance per month on your big tank ? Are you satisfied with the water clarity you get with your setup ? I am in Sac once a month or so and would love to check it out.

i currently spend about an hour per week doing water changes, cleaning stuff out, etc. but pretty soon that will be nothing since im setting up a 24/7 water changer :) i recently added a 100 micron filter sock to the sump and the water is amazingly clear just with this alone.

let me know whenever youre in town :)

these are always the best threads to view, great job on the tank, and thanks for the detailed and well pictured thread!

Never seen this thread before. All I can say is wow, some very stunning fish you have in there. The pike is amazing. Never seen one that looked so good, and your cichla, they have so much color. I really liked the feeding video's, and the updated pics with the new camera are awesome.

I'm currently building an agae scrubber/continuos water changer and should have it online this week. I'll PM when I make my next trip north.
