the powder is bad for you lungs and be careful pouring it, don't want to miss the bucket and end up putting it into the tank.

You can use the Marinland Maxiflo as a diatom filter and this runs continuous on my 125 gallon tank. Just buy the micron filter for it. I don't have diatomaceous earth in mine and am pleased with the clarity of the water. When it clogs you can bleach the filter cartridge.

Mine leaks and I am pissed! I have only ran it for in total 2 weeks!
