Did anyone see Fishzilla on National Geographic

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I saw it. I found it funny how they fished for them, by powering up the generator and dipping a probe into the water. Five seconds later you see a bunch of stunned fish belly up

. . . way too much hype about them though. . .

i saw it also, i thought it was over exagerated, and i think alot off the fish in the rivers were because people didnt want to get in trouble and disposed of the fish in local rivers.

Hi everyone,
I actually worked on the Fishzilla program, and had no intention of misleading the public. Basically I was reporting on the sensationalism/media hype that this fish garnered after it first showed up in Crofton. But in the end, it was really a message about invasive species. I know many non-native species end up integrating with our ecosystem, but it's still a serious issue. Thanks for the feedback!

O RLY? I wouldn't let my dog outside after that show, I was terrified for it's life. And I don't even have a dog.

unfortunately the show was really sensationalized and biased, not giving the other side of the story, very unfortunate. like Larry said, snakeheads have been established in hawaii for many years now, no cats or dogs were missing, or children, not found in swimming pools, and believe it or not, though many native fish are gone from hawaii, not necessarily from the snakeheads, there is still a fishery for large mouth bass, catfish, and many other species of game fish! wonder why the fishzilla didn't just take over the island?
