Did I buy a deformed frontosa?

the tail part look deformed.make it like short body.dun think is a pair.
 
Those are some messed up fish.Dont breed them.
If you like them keep them but if you paid for top quality,demand your cash back.
 
Yes he is deformed and who ever sold him to you knew he was deformed that type of deformity is noticeable from birth from my point of viewing it looks like two males but i could be wrong only way to tell 100% is to vent the fish's sexual apparatus.. google fish venting and you will get a hit on some cool info..

I wouldn't euthanize him due to his deformity i would keep him in that tank and do not breed him you will get deformed fry with his poor genetics..

I brought him privately so I cant return him...Alot of dodgy sellers in my country....

I was not planning to breed but keep him in that display tank so I am not concerned about his sex too much...

I am kinda picky with my fishes, so I might get rid of him...
 
man if you are not breeding him keep him as a conversation piece, i have a few few that are deformed but I kept them and they look good and have great personality

one of my bleekeri small spot looks like it has a hair lip but its healthy so I keep it alive
