Did I buy a deformed frontosa?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yes, the fish is deformed.
You also have 2 different variant of frontosas in there. The lighter colored one is a burundi frontosa, the darker one looks like a Zaire variant. They should NOT be bred together. The frys will be hybrids and no longer valuable. They might get deformed stripes too.

OMG the smaller male is beautiful, sooo cute. looks like hes got a nemo tail.

lol i doubt u would getany babies from them though.

awww dont take them back, il have them. how do u find they get on with the parrots? my parrots were evil and beat mine half to death, bloody things.

if u were in sydney - i would give it to u since u like it so much...my parrots are peaceful...they all get along...you say the larger one is a Zaires? i brought them both as 6 bar frontosas...

i think the zaires variety is expensive here in oz...

Def. deformed, but the more I look at him, I like it. Looks like a Calvus trapped in Fronts body. He does fit in BPs.

Can someone confirm the variety so if I do sell it I'm not misinforming the buyer....Cheers....

The lighter colored one with the black stripe going across his eyes is definitely a burundi. The purplish colored one is not a burundi. It has the black zorro mask on its eyes. The mask does not extend all the way down to the bottom of its mouth. It is either a Zaire variant or a Tanzanian variant. Which exact variant, I can't say. Without knowing the collection point its nearly impossible. I'm leaning more towards a Zaire variant because of the deep purplish color.
