Stores sell with profit in mind and also typically offer warranties. Private sellers sell for whatever they can get and almost never get what stores can get and no warranty on the fish usually. Stores do good business with impulse buyers and with people who shop with credit cards.
dang thats a lot!!!! i just got rid of my 9 1/2" rhom for $60. i just got sick of having a solitary fish and had to undercut him to get rid of him. on the bright side a 14" online is going for $800 so that should make u feel better about your purchase.
