If you like him, that's all that matters. My husband thought I was crazy to pay some of the prices I've paid for fish. They are worth it to us. Good looking convict BTW.
Even thou he is a nice convict personally I wouldn't have paid more then $15 for a full growen
Convict.

Lol doom. In the scale of everything you have spent on your aquarium, what's five dollars. People who nit pick miniscule amounts of money piss me off. Its five bucks. If you won't pay twenty but fifteen is cool, then you shouldn't be paying fifteen. If he loved the fish and payed thirty, then who is anyone to tell him he overpayed. We buy fish for us, not others. That's what a hobby is.

That convict is a monster! I would purchase him in a heartbeat. Even though you can't seem to get rid of cons, that size they are extremely rare. I love me some big cons, I don't know if any price less then, IDK $75 would be too high for me!
You should go Hikari. I have a year and a half old male con who loves Hikari. But you'd think he'd take the mini pellets, but he basically ignores those, so I feed him Hikari Gold medium sized pellets. Also, I had never heard of a fish turn down Massivore.
He has a love-hate relationship with NLS. The pellet size he should like, he ignores, but eats the large floating pellets. But pellets that are too large for fish make a mess, so I stick with Hikari. Softer pellet= less chewing=less mess.
picked up some hikari bio gold + yesterday , so far he ignores them only eating krill as of now , having no intentions on buying another fish i end up getting a fire mouth and a livingstonii cichlid , would i have any problems adding them in the tank with him?
Are the sizes similar? I would recommend them be larger than him. Convicts are notorious killers and one that size might do work. More than often its a guessing game. Put them in and keep an eye on it for an hour. If it looks to bad, take them out. They will fight but you can tell the difference between territorial fights and blood lust pretty easy

Watch them. Watch coloration and where they hide. Getting chased all the time is stressful. If they become top of the tank fish or filter babies pull them
