Did my bichir eat my kuhli loach?

....have you watched polys catch live prey before? They look slow and dumb...they aren't. My delhezi at roughly 4-5" could easily catch and eat 2-3" fathead minnows that I fed to my gar at the time and they (the minnows) are just as fast if not faster than a little khuli loach.
Obviously I didn't see nor ever see my Del or Endli catch any live fishes, I kept plenty of guppies in my tank for fun and those are my wolf snack meal (when these guppies all gone then my wolf will be on market prawn for main diet) I spend almost an hour in front of my tank during thr feeding time and I never witness my poly catch a live feeder, all I'm seeing my wolf catching live feeder or chasing yoyo loaches around because the yoyo grabbed a piece of shrimp that's meant for him. Even after light out and moon light up there no activity of my poly coming out for a hunt unless they doing that after my tank totally in darkness after midnight. I saw them come out and stuff their belly up with pieces of shrimp/fish fillet.

I bet you they snag a guppy or two at night when you aren't watching, and if not then they are the most reserved polys I've ever seen. Mine are all on tilapia, salmon, pellets and shrimp but my delhezi and koliba will both actively stalk any live feeders that make it into the tank. Generally now my bush fish catch them first being much faster, but before they were in there the polys took care of any sneaky minnows.

hehehe I believe you I knew my guppies disappeared after sometimes but I didn't witness the poly so I blame my wolf for the missing tank mates...now you making me wonder who's the suspect for my Octos disappearance? :D

Hahaha well with a wolf in the mix too you have a few suspects to monitor

you'd be surprised how quick they can be. they may just chill and cruise most of the time but if they see something delicious across the tank they'll be 4 feet across the water with something 4 inches into their stomach in the blink of an eye.
