Did my new fish get cooked?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Arizona Nature Aquatics. The only freshwater LFS here in Tucson.
Oh ok, no I took a break from fish for few years, I was into reptiles then, tho I have kept fish off and on since the late 80s, I remember a decent fish store off of prince. Is ANA worth the trip from PHX?

Oh, yea. Angry fish sales. I've never been as they only have big fish (not my thing although I am on MFK so go figure).
I wouldn't say that it's worth the entire 1-1 1/12 hour trip but definitely worth it if you are down here. They are a small store but so worth it! they specialize in planted tanks and south American fish AKA Heaven for me. lol

That’s right, I heard they changed their name, I think it was called pet kingdom when i was there. Next time I’m in the area, I’ll check them both out. I’ve changed what I keep the last few years, I can thank Jeremy Wade for that lol. I used to mainly keep reefs and African cichlids, now i have the new butti, a 120 monster alternative tank, an Aulonocara tank and little red eye puffer. MFK is pretty good for info on all fish I’ve found, a lot friendlier than the reef forums too. If you’re into smaller cichlids, Phoenix Tropical Fish is pretty good

Well who knows when I'll bee up there again butI'll check it out if I can. Thanks.

Oh and ANA has like a 4.9 average rating!

Keep the lights off and make sure it has some places to hide. It seems counter productive but if you give your fish places to hide it builds their confidence enough to come out and about.

This guy could be fairly shocked from this incident because a fish going into warmer water within a few degrees is ok. But when a fish goes into cooler waters they need to be slowly acclimated. So sounds like you did the right thing. If the fish is still alive, you are doing well.
You were right, I added some tall fake plants and he immediately came down and hung out there, and he started eating a few minutes ago for the first time , thanks for the advice!
