gonna look really cool once hes about 2ft long! to bad that takes so year's Id really like to see a large albino

Seller beleives a growth rate of 0.5"+ per year is possible with pristine water conditions, with a maximum size of 18-24" in the aquarium.

Off the top of my head I would of thought they'd grow faster than that, considering they max out at 3' in the wild.

What's the tank-mate? Looks like a really big arowwana. Is your avatar the arowwana and tank the adonis is in?

Yes the adonis is in the same tank (175g bowfront) as the red tail gold asian arowans (22") in my avatar.

Didn't realize how massive the arow had become until I brought home the adonis, I think he has reached his mximum lenght and is now bulking up.

Fortunately the arow who's 4.5 years old has been calm and easy going since day one, although I admit to being nervous the first 24 hours, every time he eyeballed the albino, hanging out in the top rear corner looking like a big f*#k!ng fishing lure.

Now the arrow totally ignores the adonis, but I plan to feed him a little more than usual for the time being.

Ya I've always wanted a Adonis but they grow way to slow and I can never find a large enough one that I wouldn't worry when I put it in the pond. Oh well.

I'll be happy getting 18" out of him but certainly won't complain if it's 24"

So far day five and he's rasping on the glass, non stop, never hides.

I've checked him out in the middle of the night and he's still on the glass, may be avoiding the large royals.

Can't tell if he's going for any of the overnight food yet. The two biggest royals, 11+12" are sold pending pick up, and then there will be one 6" and one 10" left. Hopefully he'll get braver then, and start eating better.

I'm wondering if these guys are aggressive as people claim. My LFS has had one forever and I'm tempted to bring him home. I'm honestly wondering if my pseudas will play nice LOL

Nothing wrong with trying
