there is a 6 yr old boy that took off in a homemade helium balloon (not on purpose). He's flown 40 miles so far and the balloon is starting to rock and deflate, I would post a link but never seem to post them correctly. It's all over the news my boss just pulled me in his office to see it.

Yeah just saw it

I can never get video links to work, the video makes it look so much worse like he's going 60mph (though it's more like 20mph) There will be some UFO sightings reported I'm sure.

The balloon is believed to have broken free from the boy's family home

A six-year-old boy is reportedly stranded in a helium balloon floating over the US state of Colorado, in a drama broadcast by TV stations. The mushroom-shaped silver balloon, apparently made by the boy's father, reportedly reached heights of 7,000ft.
The balloon was floating about 40 miles north of Denver as officials sought to work out a rescue plan.
A Larimer County sheriff's office spokeswoman said they were trying to determine the best course of action.
She told the CNN network that the local air force base, the Federal Aviation Authority and news groups with helicopters were talking about ways to try to rescue him.
Live footage of the balloon, which is being tracked by media helicopters, showed it soaring high above the ground.
It has not been independently confirmed that the child is inside the balloon but he is believed to have climbed in through an access door at the family home.

really, did it land or did they bring the sucker down. hope he didn't fall out.

Maybe he was just playing hide and seek and didn't want to ruin a really good spot.

Now I have to go back to see the story.

The 6-year-old boy who was thought to be in a mylar balloon speeding high across Colorado Thursday was on the ABC series 'Wife Swap,' according to multiple reports.
Falcon Heene is the son of Richard and Mayumi Heene of Ft. Collins, Colo. His parents are storm chasers, and their chaotic parenting style was criticized by their swap family.
Richard and Mayumi Heene of Ft. Collins, Colo. have two other boys, Bradford and Royo.
The family was on the show because of their risk-taking ways. According to the ABC 'Wife Swap' website, the family sleeps in their clothes so they can leap from bed and run after a storm at any given moment.
The site also describes the balloon that sounds like the one being tracked Thursday.
"When the Heene family aren't chasing storms, they devote their time to scientific experiments that include looking for extraterrestrials and building a research-gathering flying saucer to send into the eye of the storm," says the site.

wow

maybe if your crazy enough to be able to get on the show wife swap, or want to go on the show wife swap.

I have a five year old, I kept thinking about the kid being stuck in there freaking out. They should be fined the costs incured by the national gaurd and all the commercial planes that had to be delayed/ re-routed....... and for my emotional ditress
