Did your Black Ghost Knife ever kill some of your fishes?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
In 4 days ate 6 fishes.... guppies and tetras... not sure what to do with this fish as still have quiet few guppies :(:( the guy in the shop said it is harmless...

My big thing is if you don't feed a knife properly it will get hungry and nip at others. My 16" wild caught BGK is with neons right now and I feed him good. He hasn't touched one yet

how often do you give him food? now I started feed it every day ( 1 cube of frozen warms) and it seams to be fine. not sure if it will not kill anything else.

mine killed and eat have an ebdj, they were the only two fish in the tank, feed everyday a varied diet. I had seen a bit of a fight the week before but put it down to a squabble over tank space. didn't see the ebjd for a couple of feeds and found him well half of him.

Mine ate the fins of a pleco so the pleco could not swim so it died. Later it took both eyes out of one corydoras (only injured one of 6 cory catfish.
Though when well fed it did fine these only happen when im on vacation. Once when it was only the ghost knife fish and angelfish the angelfish ate the black ghost knife fish. That us all I remember the ghost knife attacking and getting injured by.

My BGK attacked fish, but never killed or took eyes; to the best of my knowledge. More just warned them away from territory

Mine was nearly killed by my ornate bichir a while back (and is now completely and permanently missing his caudal fin), but has never killed another fish, aside from young white clouds that I introduced as feeders one time.
