i wanna vary my cichlids diet more. i give them hikari pellets as the staple and frozen bloodworms, frozen brineshrimp and beefheart. they also get the every blue moon dinner of ghost shrimp. what else could i use?

i've seen my yellow lab stealing little bits of mussels, clams, scallops from my fahaka... so maybe you could try some of those things?

Before worrying about variety I would upgrade to a better staple diet. I only feed and recommend New Life Spectrum. Most likely making only this change will make a big difference. Their colors will improve and you will be less likely to ever face any health problems.

Veggies, plankton, mysis, etc.

ill look into the new life spectrum, can i do raw veggies cut up? im assuming u dont cook em up 1st lol

I know some people blanch their veggies, but I feed mine raw. You might need to use a veggie clip or a screwcumber to make them sink. And as for the NLS I noticed my cichlids colors and striping have become much more vibrant since I switched to that brand food.
