Dude now your making me feel like an idiot for having your back. I'm trying to promote courtesy here towards all members. Now I know what it's like to feel provoked, still we should keep our composure and try to talk in a respectful way and convey our point. Your comment here is out of line.

Yeah, I was going to say he is not helping his case much.

I agree the statement is combative, but I felt like VRWC's was as well. VRWC's comes off as dismissive and superior. Now maybe that wasn't his intention, but that doesn't change the fact that's how it comes off. I personally would have suggested the search feature and if I didn't have anything helpful other than that I would apologize about only having the search function as a recommendation. It comes off as curt when anyone says just use the search function. Though seeing as VRWC said he was bothered by such post's it leads me to believe that was the intention of his statemnent. It's a passive aggressive way of saying your question is stupid and repetitive and you can find the answer if you use the search function now stop wasting my time. Personally why get annoyed when I guarantee everyone of us has posted at least one thread that was posted before and we could have used the search function to find the answer,it's hypocrytical. Why can't we just treat people like we would want to be treated?

Good question, some people need to keep this in mind.

Use the search feature to the left of your posting and youll find all the info/pics you need on both.

Also, if all you have is a 29g tank, as stated in your signature and tank setup, that is in no way large enough to house a jag.

Okay okay, what's all the fuss? Now I guess we have to dissect this a little. Looking at VRWC's statement, he wasn't being rude. He was simply saying that by using the search feature, the OP will find lots of info and pictures on both variants of Jag...much more than VRWC could post in this thread.

He then goes on to say that "IF" the Jag is going into the 29g, (THE ONLY TANK LISTED IN THE OP'S SIGNATURE), that the Jag will get too big.

The ONLY RUDE person in this thread is the OP. As you can see by these two posts.

The main difference between this variant and the other is that they have a pronounced blue coloration across the top of their backs at the base of the dorsal fin. Very nice fish.

To the op-
I was lucky enough to get one of Moe's off spring and have owned 2 different matting pair of Jags for over 20yrs which have since passed. The Hondurian Jag are by far the more beautiful of the two. I am also here in Colorado. If you want you can shot me a PM and I can answer a few questions if you would like. Our Local fish stores are not bad for aquring a nice Jag but nothing close to the beauty of the Hondurian's.

Both Koltsix and VRWC are right, imho. We need couretsy in here, and this is not an unpersonal database. This is much more than that, and contact between people, and change of views and opinions should take place, because that is waht enriches our hobby and our knowledge of same.

People should also learn to use the tools MFK provides.

I have to stick up for the thread starter on this one - he asked a question and wanted simple responses.

Fair enough you wished to teach them how to use the search tools - but maybe he wanted to find out fresh info from you all in their own thread. VRWC what are you on the forum for if you arent willing to help people and respond. It seems a waste of time us being here on this forum if we can't all interact with each other peacefully and create some fun debates on this hobby.

And I think people on here are quick to assume that people are putting cichlids in tiny tanks - just because of their signature. They didn't even state what tank they were going in so why are people always straight into the grilling? That might provoke anyone assuming something and essentially ruining the thread and wasting the thread starters time.

If your not going to say anything constructive then don't act like the forum police. Many threads are ruined through wasting peoples time.

I am with VRWC on this one. There was a post recently asking what a sump is and how it works. After seeing little response to the thread, I kindly advised the OP to go to the DIY section and look under filter since there was so much valuable info already out there with pics and examples. Why summarize and rehash something when others have spent so much time/effort already explaining the topic.

OP's "duh" response was completely unnecessary especially from someone asking for info/advise. Just my .02.

Honestly, VRWC and Modest_man are notorious for this remark. I'm sorry, but you both come off rude and arrogant when you tell someone to use the search or Google. Perhaps they have tried that and found nothing that was useful pertaining to their question. So in the time you waste thrashing someone and making them feel like they don't deserve to keep fish, help them or say nothing at all. This is an amazing hobby, welcome people and help them when they ask questions, don't degrade them and turn them away from it.

Now, onto the OP, some of your remarks were out of line too. If someone is going to be of no help, disregard them and their comments. Speak only to those that have been willing to help. We're all here because we love our fish and want to help others with our own personal experiences. I feel great about myself knowing I've offered some of my experiences with this hobby that has helped.

As for your question, Aquamojo's picture speaks for itself. The Honduras variant of the Jags is by far the best looking in my eyes and his pictures inspired me to get a Jag. I do believe mine is of the Honduras variant because there is a nice amount of blue coming through in it's dorsal fin and upper back. But I'll know when it grows some more for sure. They're fun fish to watch. I do encourage people to get them.
