Difference between Wallago Attu and Wallago Leeri catfish????

wats the difference between these two mighty beasts?? im so confused. thanks for any input If your wondering wat they might look like, arapaimag has one in the video thread in the article section of MFK

about the same size but attu has much bigger teeth and is much more aggressive it is also more silver on its stomach when adult the leeri and is slimer leeri is fatter and more black when adult also they have a much better color when young and can be kept in groups for a while but both when older will move off on there own both being solotary preds will try to eat any other fish in there tank but with enough room you can sometimes keep them with other fish way to big to bee eaten pecu are the only fish i can think of how ever attu has a much bader atitude that coupled with its teeth mean it will proubly rip apart and eat any fish with it regardless of size or of space givin VERY teritorial catfish

mabye its hard to say TSN's couldn't really fight back RTC could hold up it might work if they were big i'd try leeri it could work but both catfish have a nack of eleminating there tankmates but while leeri is a little harder to feed it would proubly be the better of the two to try and mix

I agree... also the end of the mouth on the W.Attu reaches beyond the eye whereas it stops short of the eye in the W. Leerii. Chk out the comparison on planet catfish.com too.

not good for an aquarium. I believe even john PTC has taken his W.attu out of his 5000 gal. tank after a brief period.

really??? i didnt know he had one. but it cant possible grow larger than his arapaima...can it??? maybe in girth but not length :s

I don't think he took it out because of it's size. They are just monsters in every sense of the word. Wonder how well an ARTC would do in a very large community. Like 4000 gals.
