Difference in BGK size

I got 2 BGKs in March/April of last year and they were probably around 1.5in. Now one of the BGKs is about 7in while the other has remained quite small, probably around 3in or so. The small guy is very active and eats very well. Is this small guy just a dwarf or do you all have any possible explanations why one is so large and the other has remained so small?

if hes eating well then im not sure, i suppose it is possible hes just growing a lot slower, i know BGK live a long time, and i wonder if maybe its possible its growing slower just becuz it will be a smaller one..... i wish i was a little taller, maybe this BGK is like myself lol
 
i've considered the sexual dimorphism part but from all the things i've read on sexing BGKs (mostly head shape) they look to be the same sex, but they may still be too young to sex
 
It could be a few things.. even if it eats well if it's under stress it will use up fuel with that then for growth. If you're religious about water changes, and they are both eating and fed well. I would honestly think you have immature opposite sexes.

yea, i keep up with water quality and all the fish in my tank get along well so doesn't seem like chemical or physical stress, but yea, the immature opposite sex does seem possible, thanks MonsterMinis!
