i discussed this with richard earlier and this is all we will say for now. rest assured the information will be made available eventually, but right now there is a good amount of work being done on the species and the diagnostics used for telling them apart are a component of this work.

in terms of pet trade fish, it's still simplest to consider them Florida/spotted gars, and one would be safe in doing so. regarding their husbandry, both species would be treated the same--
