Diet, stress, light levels, water clarity, and other conditions can affect the color/pattern of bass. An individual fish can change also...one day it may have almost no markings, the next it may have very bold markings.
Whenthe lights r off his markings r very light to the point u think he has no markings and then as soon as the lights turn on he darkens and youcan see his markings
